“The one minute $ales Person” by Spencer Johnson

Many years ago I purchased the book, “The one minute $ales Person” by Spencer Johnson. Over the years I couldn’t begin to tell you how many times I have re-read it because of how valuable I felt it’s content was. A lot of sale’s members fail because they take rejection personal when in fact very few failed sales attempts are because of the “Salesman” themselves. When you realize it’s not “You” but your product or service they are rejecting then it becomes easier to move on to another person.

This morning, as I read the scripture from my devotions (1 Samuel 8:7), I could see that this is exactly how Samuel must have felt and God jumped in there to reassure him that it wasn’t. God told Samuel, ……”Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me……

Another thing that I learned many years ago from this book is that you can not sell something that you do not believe in. If you have not been personally changed (for the positive) because of a product or service then you won’t be able to convince someone else that it’s worth it.

I talk about my successful marriages all the time but in fact it is Jesus that redirected my life and in turn a failed attempt at life into a beautiful thing. It would not, however, changed at all if I had not accepted but rejected Jesus in my heart.
